The Colorado Springs Comic Con is returning this weekend, celebrating fan favorites and cult classics at The Broadmoor World Arena.
The three-day festival, which starts Friday afternoon, will host dozens of celebrity guests for fans to meet, as well as a market full of pop culture goods and cosplay contests.
One special guest to look forward to this year is Kevin Smith of “Clerks,” who will only be at the con on Sunday, said Krisily Fernstrom, spokesperson for Altered Reality Entertainment.
“We’re super excited, because Kevin puts on an amazing show. He is only there one day, so anybody that wants to see him definitely wants to make sure that they get that ticket for that day,” she said. “The rest of the guests within the ‘Clerks’ group will be there all weekend, but Kevin does his own panel separate from us. His shows are really, really fun, and he’s kind of just a blast for anyone who grew up with him.”

Three cast members from “Once Upon A Time,” Lana Parrilla, Rebecca Mader and Sean Maguire, will appear at the event and participate in a panel. Several voice actors from “The Clone Wars” will be in attendance, including Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein and James Arnold Taylor.
Some other highlighted guests: Priscilla Presley and Devon Werkheiser of “Ned’s DeClassified.” There will also be a host of artists showcasing their work, including Bill Diamond, who worked on “Dark Crystal,” “Labyrinth,” “Sesame Street” and most recently “Terrifier 3.”
The Colorado Springs Comic Con also will have a sensory room to provide a space to step away for a moment for those who are neurodivergent or who just need a quiet moment.
“We have it at every show, so any of our guests that need kind of just a quiet space, to be with their family or to just kind of take a breath from an overwhelming crowd,” Fernstrom said.
Like every year, dressing up as your favorite character or pop culture icon is encouraged — as long as you keep it family friendly, Fernstrom said.
“I know Disney has coined the phrase it’s ‘the happiest place on Earth,’ but I don’t know. I feel like Comic Cons are the happiest place on Earth because everyone is so happy to be there, whether it’s our guests that are there to sign autographs and meet the people that have made their shows so successful, or the people that are there to meet those guests,” she said.
