Continues Arcade to host ‘Titans 4 Scholars Music Festival’ fundraiser this week for new scholarship

A night of live music is coming to Continues Arcade this week as a group of Alexandria high schoolers seek to raise funds for a new scholarship.

A group of juniors at Alexandria City High School is aiming to raise $12,000 over the next two months to create a new award through the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria. One fundraising event, the “Titans 4 Scholars Music Festival,” is happening from 6-8 p.m. this Thursday at Continues (1050 N. Fayette Street).

The night will feature live performances from local student musicians and bands, Christian Burke and Benny Hagues, The Scenic Route and Redwood.

So far, the students have collected $3,075 from 39 donors. A suggested donation for Thursday’s event is $10.

“We are asking you to rally your friends, family, and networks to support the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria in establishing an additional scholarship for a 2026 graduating Titan,” the fundraiser notes.

There are number of events over the next several weeks across the city, with funds going toward the effort, according to the group.

Tuesday, Jan. 27 — Bingo Night at the Beeliner Diner (3648 King Street), from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb 4 — Eat at (or take out) Chipotle (3672 King Street) at Bradlee Shopping Center from 4-8 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 7 — Bake sale at the maker’s market at Sport Rock (5380 Eisenhower Ave) from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. will go toward the effort
Saturday, Feb. 21 — There will be an art auction at Cameron Cafe (4911 Brenman Park Drive) from noon to 4 p.m., and online Feb. 21-27
Saturday, Feb. 28 — Bake sale at the Del Ray Farmers’ Market (2311 Mount Vernon Avenue) from 8 a.m. to noon

Now in its 40th year, the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria has given away millions in scholarships to Alexandria students. The nonprofit gave more than $700,000 to 215 members of the class of 2025.
