Investigators have announced they still don’t have a suspect in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie.
The sheriff’s department also revealed they don’t have a press briefing scheduled to provide any further updates.
The news came a week after Nancy, the mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing. Police have searched Nancy’s home and found traces of blood on her front door and signs of forced entry.
Following Nancy’s disappearance, four major searches have taken place at her home. The latest search took place on Sunday, February 8, with officers seen searching a septic tank near the property.
Footage showed investigators opening a manhole cover, which is said to lead to the septic tank.
And it’s not just Nancy’s home that officers have been searching, with cops also having searched Nancy’s daughter Annie’s home on Saturday, February 7.
Bright flashes could be seen coming from Annie’s home as police took photos inside her garage. Officers were also seen leaving the property wearing blue gloves, with one holding a silver briefcase.
Just hours before the search at Annie’s home, her sister Savannah shared an emotional video plea to her mom’s suspected kidnappers. She was joined in the video by her sister and brother, Camron.
“We received your message and we understand,” Savannah said. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us and we will pay.”
The people suspected of kidnapping Annie are demanding $6 million be paid to them in bitcoin by Monday evening, February 9, according to a note sent to a local TV station.
The FBI is currently offering a $50,000 reward for information on Nancy’s kidnapping.
The sheriff’s office has said officers will “maintain a presence at Nancy Guthrie’s residence for security” at the request of the family.
Authorities also said a doorbell camera in Nancy’s home was disconnected and removed on Sunday morning. At about 2.28 a.m. local time, the app connected to her pacemaker was also disconnected from her phone.
