BigHit Music, the agency behind the world’s biggest K-pop sensation BTS, has just announced the name of its brand-new boy group, set to appear online for a debut showcase on August 10. Now part of the HYBE Corporation, BigHit Music also manages Tomorrow X Together — the younger sibling group to BTS — who have carved out their own place in the global music scene with record-breaking albums such as The Name Chapter: Freefall and their latest release, The Star Chapter: Together. The latter featured both solo and group projects by the members, along with collaborations with acclaimed artists including the Jonas Brothers and Anitta.
Six years after the debut of Tomorrow X Together, BigHit Music is preparing to launch its next boy group. On August 7 at midnight KST, the agency revealed a video on the new group’s official Instagram account, announcing their name: Cortis. The caption read, “Our name sounds like… #CORTIS #코르티스.”
Follow-up posts showcased promotional material featuring the members: Martin (born 2008), James (born 2005), Juhoon (born 2008), Seonghyeon (born 2009), and Keonho (born 2009). While the members’ faces have not yet been fully revealed, the official Cortis Instagram account has shared a group photo of the boys wearing face masks.
On August 8, another update was posted on Cortis’s official Instagram, announcing their upcoming YouTube Premiere set to stream on August 10. The debut video will include “exclusive debut content, hints at their upcoming activities, and direct interaction as they respond to fans’ questions in real time.”

The debut of BigHit Music’s third boy group marks a significant moment for K-pop fandoms, as the agency continues to hold a special place in fans’ hearts thanks to its dedication to building enduring relationships through music. Both BTS and Tomorrow X Together are known for their active involvement in writing and producing their own songs — something still relatively rare among major K-pop groups. Members of both acts have consistently spoken of their love and commitment to fans through their music, and K-pop enthusiasts will no doubt be looking forward to Cortis as the next torchbearers of BigHit’s legacy of meaningful connection through sound.
