Award-winning songwriter Cosy Sheridan is scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10, at the Parish Center for the Arts in Westford, according to a community announcement.
Sheridan, described as “one of the era’s finest and most thoughtful songwriters,” has a diverse repertoire that includes ragtime guitar, social satire and modern renditions of mythology, according to the announcement. Her music regularly tops folk radio charts, and her CD “Pretty Bird” was listed among Sing Out Magazine’s Great CDs of 2014.
Charlie Koch, Sheridan’s husband and musical partner, will join her on stage. He began learning guitar at age 11 and has taught bass and guitar classes at Puget Sound Guitar Workshop and Moab Folk Camp, according to the announcement.
Kent Allyn, accompanist and studio musician, will also perform. He’s been a key sideman for several groups and songwriters, including Ben Baldwin & the Big Note, Susie Burke & David Surette, and Harvey Reid and Joyce Andersen.
Tickets are $20 for members, $22 for non-members and $25 at the door, if available, according to the announcement. Seating will be cabaret-style, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show.
