If you check out Riley Green’s background you will find the guy has had his hand in a little bit of everything.
He was even played quarterback in college at Jacksonville State. But it was one of his less glamours gigs that had him putting things in perspective recently when he stepped onstage to perform for his fans. So, the 36-year-old made sure to let everyone in attendance know he doesn’t take things for granted.
“Thank you all very much,” Green told the crowd a video from the show that was shared to TikTok. “A few years ago, I was doing construction work for a living. I signed with Big Machine Records. Now I got songs on the radio.
“Thank you all so much for supporting country music,” he continued. “This right here is my first number one on country radio, a song I wrote called ‘There Was This Girl.”
Green’s songs have been on the radio for a few years now, to be exact, because “There Was This Girl” was his debut single back in 2018.
And his bank account is also looking slightly better than it probably would have had he remained a construction worker. CelebrityNetWorth.com estimates that he now has a fortune of around $5 million.”
And American Songwriter noted that he has been on the rise of late.
“It’s been a really great last year and a half,” Green said in an interview with MusicRow. “Obviously now that people are really listening, I need a lot of great songs. You just can’t write enough.”
Don’t expect him to let up, but the former signal caller turned construction worker admitted that he has “already been way more successful in music than I ever thought I would be.”
