Priscilla Block’s career is on the rise. But, it wasn’t long ago that the Platinum-selling country music artist, 30, was living in Nashville with only $50 to her name, a fake ID, very few connections, and a dream that seemed far out of reach.
“I knew coming to Nashville was gonna be hard. So it wasn’t like I was in some fairytale world of being like, ‘I’m just gonna blow up overnight,’” the North Carolina native said, recalling her move to Music City in 2014 at age 17 while appearing on the Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley Podcast.
However, Block still has no regrets.
Priscilla Block’s Move Was Fearless
“I knew that I wanted to do this since I wrote my first song at 15….,” she said. “I mean, seriously, it’s wild looking back. I was just this fearless, young girl. I had this dream. I knew I was meant to do it. I graduated from high school early. I came out here. I didn’t know anyone when I moved to Nashville.”
Knowing no one, Block says she “lived in some crazy places,” and she admits she made some naive choices in her teenage years. One of those decisions included jumping online and grabbing anyone as a roommate without a vetting process in place. In doing that, she turned to Craigslist.
She Was Going To Chase Her Dream No Matter What
“I had Craigslist roommates. My parents dropped me off at this house, and that was that,” Block told host Savannah Chrisley. “I didn’t know where to go or where to start, but I was gonna figure it out.”
When asked how her Craigslist roommate wrangling experience unfolded once she was moved in, Block admitted, “Well. I did get robbed.”
“But hey, it’s OK,” the “Just About Over You” songstress added as she can now tell the tale that has built some character into her persona. “I remember I called my parents, and it was like, it was my first weekend in Nashville. I’m like, ‘Hey. Uh, my house got broken into tonight.’ My dad’s like, ‘I knew that place was a dump.’ Then my mom’s like, ‘Be quiet! That’s all she can afford.’”
“But yeah, it’s been a journey….I’ve had a couple of Craigslist roommates….. There were some sketchy times. I’ve definitely lived in some crazy places,” Block added. “But, it’s what makes me, me, and it makes all of this so much sweeter.”
Priscilla Block Will Headline Nashville’s Roman Auditorium in 2026
Sweeter, indeed, as Block is gearing up to headline her first show at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Set for March 4, 2026, the show dubbed, Priscilla Block & Friends, serves as a stop on Block’s Things You Didn’t See Tour, named after her recently released 14-track sophomore album.
“Headlining the Ryman is one of the biggest bucket list moments of my life,” Block shared in a press release. “I moved to Nashville 11 years ago, chasing this dream, and to finally headline the home of country music is such an honor. This will be an unforgettable night, and I can’t wait to share it with y’all.”
