Black entertainment and events company Cxmmunity Media secures a six-figure investment from Live Nation Urban, expanding the company’s footprint.

Under the new partnership, Live Nation Urban will work closely with The Cxmmunity Foundation, the Black entertainment and media company’s philanthropic arm “dedicated to increasing access and long-term opportunities for emerging talent to enter the gaming, esports, and digital entertainment industries.”

The investment will see Cxmmunity, as a primarily gaming and music focused company, expanding its content production pipeline as a result. It will also expand its large-scale live activations, including the music and gaming-focused The Kickback and the Atlanime event, both in Atlanta.

The investment comes as a result of Live Nation’s partner company, Black Lily Capital Investment Fund, created to support Black entrepreneurs in the entertainment sector.

“Our partnership with Cxmmunity represents a commitment to the future of next-generation media,” said Live Nation Urban President Shawn Gee. “The leadership team has created a scalable business model at the crossroads of gaming, technology, and culture, led by visionary founders who are pushing the industry forward.”

“Through Live Nation Urban’s Black Lily Capital Investment Fund, our mission is to strategically support companies like Cxmmunity with the resources they need to grow, and we’re excited about the opportunities we will build together,” Gee added.

“A new era of culture-building begins here,” said Cxmmunity Media co-founder Chris Peay. “We’ve landed some major partnerships in the past, but this one feels right. We set out to shift the media landscape—and we did. Now with Live Nation Urban, we’re not just pushing our culture forward, we’re changing what Black entertainment looks like today. It’s not just about being the biggest. It’s about being the most impactful, and that’s exactly what we intend to be.”

“Partnering with Live Nation Urban marks a defining moment for our company,” said Cxmmunity Media founder and CEO Ryan Johnson. “Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities to scale our live events, deepen access to world-class talent, and leverage first-party data to shape more meaningful cultural experiences. Most importantly, this partnership is about empowering creators, giving them greater platforms, resources, and opportunities to thrive. This isn’t just about growth; it’s about impact.”

“This partnership is about more than capital,” Johnson concluded. “It’s about unlocking niche cultural storytelling through media and advertising, live experiences, data, and creator-led IP. Gen Z no longer looks to traditional celebrities as their cultural compass—instead, creators are leading the way. In response to this shift, we’re forging a groundbreaking partnership to build the largest media and entertainment company for creators.”
