Dakota Johnson has reportedly begun dating again. The actress split with her on-again-off-again partner, Chris Martin, in June.
In May, just before the breakup was announced, Johnson told ELLE UK a bit about her dating experience so far.
“I find the whole concept of the film so interesting, because it’s so foreign to me,” she shared. “I’ve never dated anybody. I’ve had boyfriends, but I have never been on a dating app. I just don’t know that world. So, it was so interesting and intriguing. It’s the most beautiful side of humanity, but it can also be the most ugly. Loving someone is the most scary and beautiful thing you can do.”
In November, a source told People that Johnson was ready to start seeing new people again.
“[She] has been slowly dating again, and she’s happy,” the insider said. “Her relationship with Chris was often hot and cold, and while she always hoped they’d work out, she seems lighter and more at peace now that it’s final.”

On December 29, TMZ ran photos of Johnson with Role Model at a candlelit dinner in a restaurant with some friends, quoting sources who stated that Johnson was “lying on him all cuddled up at the cozy dinner.”
January 2026
The actress and musician supposedly rang in 2026 together. Johnson hosted a New Year’s Eve party for friends and family, and Role Model was reportedly in attendance. A source speaking with Entertainment Tonight stated that they were “inseparable” at the event.
“Dakota hosted a New Year’s Eve party and she and Role Model were inseparable throughout the night,” said the source. “They were kissing, dancing and holding onto each other. They looked incredibly happy, cute, and sweet together.”
Johnson’s mother, Melanie Griffith, was also there and appeared to be “completely comfortable” with Role Model.
