On November 8, 2025 Days of Our Lives celebrated its 60th anniversary with a star-studded red-carpet event. E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi brought the network’s CreatorCam to the celebration, interviewing several cast members throughout the night, including Dan Feuerriegel, who plays E.J. DiMera.
On-screen E.J. DiMera had a dramatic year as the center of the high-stakes “Who Shot E.J.” storyline. The mystery kept fans guessing for months, with suspects ranging from his son Johnny (Carson Boatman) to his sister Kristen (Stacey Haiduk). In the end, it was revealed that E.J.’s young niece, Rachel Black, was behind the shocking shooting.
When asked by Marfuggi about his reaction to learning Rachel was the shooter, Feuerriegel shared, “So, rumors were going around while we were shooting and there was one time that we suspected that it would be Rachel,” he said. “But when I properly found out I thought it was awesome.”
Feuerriegel reflected on the “Who Shot E.J.” arc as a whole calling it “a great storyline.” He praised his co-stars, adding, “Alice [Halsey] was phenomenal and it’s just a pleasure to work with such amazing people.”

When the storyline aired earlier this summer, fans took to social media to share their reactions. One user wrote on X (Formerly Twitter), “I knew that little Rachel shot EJ, I said that since the start, I feel proud of myself. She is Kristen’s daughter that is enough evidence. I am so so excited to watch the aftermath, the story had me hooked. This story is and continues to be the best, I love it”

With a third user writing, “Oh, I’m sure they’ll find a way to whitewash Rachel’s actions. And of course, it will be all EJ’s fault that she shot him. 🙄 I can hear Brady ranting already.”
