DC is moving into body horror territory with upcoming comic book horror movie Clayface, which had been set for theatrical release via Warner Bros. on September 11, 2026.
Clayface will now release in theaters on October 23, 2026.
James Watkins (The Woman in Black, Speak No Evil) will direct from a script by Mike Flanagan (“The Haunting of Hill House,” Doctor Sleep) and Hossein Amini (Drive).
The project is being compared to David Cronenberg’s The Fly.
The story centers on an actor who injects himself with a substance to remain relevant, only to find out that he can reshape his face and form, becoming a walking piece of clay.
