What has Demi Lovato said about her new album and upcoming tour?
Lovato previously teased she is eager to get back to performing live, writing in an Oct. 13 Instagram post “this era is a celebration of the journey that’s brought me to where i am today. i haven’t announced a headline show since 2023 and i have missed seeing your faces so much. i cannot wait to get back in a room with you all and sing, dance, scream and shake our asses TOGETHER!!”
The new album marks a return to pop music. Back in January 2022, the Camp Rock star held a funeral for her pop music career as a way to usher in the release of her rock album Holy Fvck.
In a statement to Rolling Stone, the singer said that while she previously made “cathartic music” about “heavy topics” as a way to process her emotions, this era feels different. “When I got back in the studio this time around, those songs just weren’t resonating anymore because I’m not in that place in life,” the singer, who married singer Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in May, said. “I’m happy, I’m in love, and I just want to enjoy life and have fun. I realized it’s not that deep anymore, and that became the ethos for this album. It’s Not That Deep is meant for late nights and dancefloors, and I can’t wait for you all to dance with me.”
