It’s time to refresh your playlist with some exciting new releases!
This week’s New Music Friday is stacked with big names. Demi Lovato’s ninth studio album, It’s Not That Deep, marks a vibrant return to her pop roots. Executive produced by Zhone, the 11-track project embraces playful, shimmering dance-pop energy. It’s a carefree shift from the darker tones of Holy Fvck (2022) and Revamped (2023). “I wanted this record to feel fun and alive,” Lovato said recently. Preceded by the singles “Fast,” “Here All Night,” and “Kiss,” the album is full of high-energy anthems.
After years of success alongside her sister Chlöe, Halle Bailey steps fully into her solo spotlight. Her debut album Love? Or Something Like It — out via Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia — captures the highs and heartbreaks of young love. The 15-track LP includes features from H.E.R., GloRilla, Mariah The Scientist and Chlöe, blending R&B, pop, and soulful production.
Selena Gomez revisits her pop roots with “In the Dark,” a sleek dance track originally recorded in 2018 for her scrapped Seven Heavens album. Now revived for the Nobody Wants This Season 2 soundtrack, the song combines pulsing beats and glossy production with Gomez’s introspective vocals.
Megan Thee Stallion is back with “Lover Girl,” a confident, sensual anthem that embraces romance on her own terms. Dropping as a standalone single via Hot Girl Productions, the track follows April’s “Whenever” and arrives as Megan enjoys a new era of balance — between love, success, and empowerment.
Tyla returns with “Chanel,” her first solo release since her WWP (We Wanna Party) EP. The track blends Afrobeats and luxury aesthetics, carrying the same irresistible polish that made “Water” a viral hit. Previewed at her Berlin fan event and Global Citizen Festival in New York, “Chanel” bridges her recent EP with her highly anticipated sophomore album.
Noteworthy releases also come from Miguel, Dave, 5 Seconds of Summer, Lily Allen, Jessie Murph, Daniel Caesar, Sigrid, The Neighbourhood, Lewis Capaldi, and more.
