The debate over artificial intelligence in Hollywood is not slowing down anytime soon, and Demi Moore is now adding her voice to the conversation. Speaking during the opening days of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, the “Ghost” actor reflected on how AI is changing the entertainment industry and why she believes artists should focus on adapting rather than resisting. Moore acknowledged the concerns surrounding technology and creativity but suggested there may also be room for balance.

Demi Moore talks about finding ‘ways’ to ‘work’ with AI in entertainment industry

Demi Moore addressed the subject during a press conference at Cannes on Tuesday, where she is serving on this year’s festival jury alongside actors and filmmakers from around the world. When asked about the increasing use of AI in entertainment and whether enough is being done to protect artists, the actor admitted the issue is far from simple.

“That’s a big question,” Moore said before explaining that AI has already become part of modern life. According to the star, trying to completely “fight” against the technology may not be realistic. Instead, she suggested there could be more value in learning how to adapt and “find ways” to work alongside it.

Although Moore acknowledged concerns surrounding AI, she also stressed that she does not believe the technology can replace genuine artistry. She argued that authentic creative expression “comes from the soul” rather than something purely “technical.” Further, Moore added that this human element is something AI cannot truly recreate. Consequently, she believes there “really isn’t anything to fear.”

The 63-year-old also admitted she is uncertain whether the entertainment industry currently has enough protections in place for artists. “I don’t know,” she said when discussing safeguards for creative work. “My inclination would be to say probably not.”

Moore’s remarks arrive during a busy year for the actor. Following renewed acclaim for her recent performances, she is preparing to release her upcoming film “I Love Boosters.” The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on May 22.
