It looks like the latest pop girly feud is between Olivia Rodrigo and none other than the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
After the 3x Grammy winner called out the federal agency for featuring her 2023 track ‘All-American Bitch’ in an ICE video she called “racist, hateful propaganda,” DHS quoted the song’s lyrics in a response to Rodrigo’s comment.
“America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe,” a DHS spokesperson told TMZ. “We suggest Ms. Rodrigo thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice.”
The video, which no longer features the song from her sophomore album Guts, is captioned: “LEAVE NOW and self-deport using the CBP Home app. If you don’t, you will face the consequences.”
“Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda,” Rodrigo wrote in a comment, which appears to have since been deleted from the post.
Jess Glynne, whose song ‘Hold My Hand’ was used in the viral Jet2 Holiday sound, previously slammed the White House for using the sound in another ICE promotional video. Theo Von also called out DHS for using a clip of him taken out of context.
In the first year of his second term, Trump has wasted no time targeting undocumented immigrants living in the United States, with the Department of Homeland Security saying in January it was ending a policy that restricted ICE agents from arresting people at houses of worship, schools and hospitals.
