Olandria Carthen says she has her “lawyers ready” after rumors surfaced alleging she hooked up with another celebrity after her breakup with Nic Vansteenberghe.
The Love Island USA star hit back against a July 23 Instagram post shared by celebrity gossip watchdog DeuxMoi which included a a screenshot of an anonymous tip stating, “Now that the pr relationship is over, Olandria has BEEN hooking up with Travis Scott.” The tipster added that they were “pretty sure” and they had “been hearing rumblings through the rumor mill months ago.”
Well, Olandria was not going to let that rumor fly and per a screenshot obtained by a fan on Threads, hopped into the comments to write, “I hope you have your lawyers ready bc I have mine.”
Olandria’s comment is no longer visible, as DeuxMoi confirmed in a pinned comment, “Update: Olandria denied(?) this rumor but blocked this account so her comment, which was pinned was not showing it was from her.” According to another fan on Threads, Olandria and Travis Scott followed each other on Instagram in June, but there is no indication that there is anything romantic happening between them.
DeuxMoi’s post comes just one day after a source confirmed to People that Olandria and Nic split one year after meeting on season 7 of Love Island USA. “The distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection,” People’s source said. “They still remain close friends. They share a deep love and respect for each other and will always support one another whenever possible.”
In June, Olandria hinted at struggling with the public’s attention on her relationship with Nic in an interview with Cosmopolitan. “I’m never that invested in someone’s relationship, and I’m not living for the internet. I don’t always post what people want me to or always do what people want me to do,” she said, adding, “Why does it matter if me and Nic are together? Even when we were at Coachella, people in the comments were like, ‘Oh, I just needed proof that they saw each other this week.’ Why are you so invested in people that don’t know you?”
