Disney star and Chuck actor Zachary Levi sent a video message about Charlie Kirk‘s death, leaving fans quite divided.
On Saturday, Sept. 13, Levi took to Instagram with a clip of himself discussing the Turning Point USA founder’s death. Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University. The alleged gunman was taken into custody on Friday, Sept. 12, after an intense manhunt, CBS News reported.
“Charlie Kirk, the state of this world, and a call to more love and prayer. 🙏,” the voice actor behind Flynn Rider in Rapunzel captioned his update.
In the video from a livestream, the Shazam star acknowledged that he hadn’t done a live in a while, explaining, “I hesitate jumping back on and sharing my thoughts because I’m not trying to piss people off. I’m only ever really trying to speak what I believe to be true and speak that in love. And sometimes I misstep. Sometimes I say things when I shouldn’t, or whatever, but I try to do my best.”
Levi said that although he did not know Kirk personally, they were “very aligned” politically, although “not perfectly.”

He added, “There were things that he said that I don’t know that I agree with and even ways in which he said them that I don’t necessarily agree with all the time. But by and large, Charlie Kirk was a good man who really cared about this country. And he has paid the ultimate price. His life was taken because of how much he cared.”
Of Kirk’s legacy of advocating “family values” and Christianity, Levi said, “All of those things combined painted a target on him for someone to then end his life. And I won’t even begin to go into understanding that—the shooter, their motivation, all of the other conspiracy theories and everything else that’s swirling around in this. The reality is Charlie Kirk is no longer with us.”

Levi shared that he was “wrecked” for Kirk’s family, wife and kids, inviting viewers to join him in sending prayers their way. He added, “But also, pray for this country, pray for this world. Guys, we are in really, really scary dark times now. Dire.”
In the comments, Levi’s followers were divided in their responses. One Instagram user wrote, “Freaking respect man. NO ONE else in Hollywood seems to be saying a word. Thank you for standing up for truth brother. 🤘🏻🇺🇸.”
Another shared, “Mad respect for you Bro! Well done!,” as a third fan echoed, “This guy and Chris Pratt are the realest actors out there and the best people in Hollywood by far. RIP Charlie Kirk 🕊💔✝️😭.”
Someone else commented, “I have always been a fan of your work. Now I am a fan of your character. well said.”
However, others did not support Levi’s take, with one follower sharing, “After finding out you’re a MAGA / [Donald] Trump supporter you’ve genuinely killed any love I had for Tangled (my favourite film). It’s such a disappointment.”
Another wrote, “Damn Bro I liked ya movies. unfollowed,” as a third echoed, “I loved you Zach. But not anymore. Your political opinions are not mine.”
In October, Levi similarly divided fans when he shared his support for Trump ahead of the presidential election.
