DJ Akademiks and Daphne Joy Finally Link Up for What Appears to Be a Date

DJ Akademiks and Daphne Joy, after a few weeks of flirting online and in interviews, have seemingly linked up for a date.

On Saturday (June 27), Akademiks posted proof of their “date” on X by sharing four romantic pictures. In each of the pictures, the duo is wrapped in a romantic embrace in what appears to be a dinner setting. Joy holds a rose in one hand and Akademiks’ face in the other, showcasing either their romantic connection or attempt to get as many clicks as possible.

The saga of Akademiks’ ‘romance’ with Daphne Joy began after he commented on the leaked sex tape that she appeared in with Diddy and adult entertainer Sly Diggler. Akademiks went on to interview Joy and revealed that he was attracted to her, after which she responded that she was “attracted” to his attraction to her.

In a No Jumper interview, Joy addressed her conversation with Akademiks, telling host Adam22: “I told him, underneath all the vulgar words and the profanity, I definitely could see a man that was honestly attracted to me.”

Days later, Joy told Cam Newton on his Funky Friday podcast that she’d be happy to go on a date with Akademiks. “It’s a, ‘I’m ready at 8:00 p.m. right now,'” she said. Joy continued on, adding that it’s “effort and energy” that appeal to her instead of just appearance.

“It’s not about the looks. It’s about how someone makes you feel,” Joy explained. “And I think, in a really crazy time, he interviewed me at one of my most, probably, emotionally vulnerable times, and he made me laugh.”

Joy, who shares a 13-year-old son, Sire Jackson, with 50 Cent, then clarified that she gravitates to men who can make her feel “really good inside,” admitting that she has no type.
