Dolly Parton is hitting pause on her long-awaited Las Vegas return.

Per the BBC, the 79-year-old country icon announced that her six-show residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace—originally planned for this December—will now take place in September 2026.

In a statement shared on her social media accounts, Parton told fans that doctors have advised her to undergo “a few procedures” before she can return to the stage.

“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges,” she wrote. “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

The singer was upfront about why she couldn’t move forward with the December shows: there simply wouldn’t be enough time to rehearse and build the production at the level she expects of herself. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” she said.

This isn’t the first time health has forced the Tennessee legend to scale back. Earlier this month, she canceled a scheduled Dollywood appearance after being diagnosed with a kidney stone that developed into an infection.

“The doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be travelling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better,’” she explained in a video message to fans at the park.

The postponement comes during a particularly emotional year for Parton. Her husband, Carl Dean, passed away in March after nearly 60 years of marriage. She recently released “If You Hadn’t Been There” in his memory, calling it one of the most personal songs she’s ever recorded.

Despite the challenges, Parton made it clear she isn’t slowing down for good. “Don’t worry about me quitting the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she told fans.

The Caesars Palace residency was set to mark her first time performing on the Strip since the 1990s, when she shared the stage with Kenny Rogers during their “Islands in the Stream” run.

Fans who have already purchased tickets won’t lose out—original tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will also be offered to those who cannot attend their make-up dates.
