See Dolly Parton celebrate Tennessean Travel Stop grand opening
The country music legend opened the first location of her Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee.
It’s the closest thing Americans will experience to a royal wedding, and everyone’s favorite celebrities are chiming in.
Dolly Parton shared wedding wishes for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce via Instagram on July 3, thanking the couple for a $2 million donation to her nonprofit, the Imagination Library, ahead of their nuptials. The charitable program delivers free books to children under the age of five, irrespective of family income.
The gift was just one of many the couple made in anticipation of their big day in New York City. Their donations spanned 20 charities and totaled $26 million dollars to national organizations, as well as many based in cities significant to the bride and groom.
“I’m blown away and overjoyed with that gratitude,” Parton said. “Now it’s evident that you two have made giving back a key part of your life. So, hey, when you have your first born, can I have it? Because that is gonna be one special baby.”
Parton’s joke references the fact that Swift’s lyrics across many of her albums allude to her desire to have children—a goal Kelce has expressed support for on his podcast, “New Heights.”
“Thank you, and know that I will always love you,” Parton added.
Throughout the years, Parton and Swift have shared a mutual admiration. The two music icons first met in 2010. They were backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, where they both performed for the venue’s 85th birthday. When Swift’s country career was first getting underway, she reportedly distributed a cover of Parton’s “Here You Come Again” (1977) to record labels.
Swift and Kelce are reportedly tying the knot at New York’s Madison Square Garden, although some reports suggest that the couple married in secret before Friday’s festivities.
Meanwhile, Parton has been busy with her own engagements. On June 24, she cut the ribbon to a new travel stop in Cornersville, Tennessee. The stop, aptly named Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop, features merch, accessories, coffee and barbecue.
“I couldn’t leave it to the beavers,” Parton joked at that event, making a reference to competitor travel stop Buc-ee’s. Although Parton is not traveling to New York for the wedding celebration, this fond message indicates that she wishes the newlyweds happiness in their new marriage.
