She’s among Hollywood’s most dedicated performers, so when the 9 to 5 icon Dolly Parton was compelled to call off her upcoming performances, it sent a clear message that something was amiss.

The country superstar recently informed her followers via social media that she couldn’t rehearse or prepare for six Caesar’s Palace concerts, scheduled to run from December 4 through December 13, due to necessary medical treatments.

Yesterday evening, Dolly Parton’s younger sibling Freida concerned supporters when she revealed she had spent the entire night in prayer for the entertainer as she confronts persistent health obstacles. The news comes a  Dolly Parton’s Vegas residency is confirmed amid the cancellations.

Through a Facebook message on Tuesday, Freida encouraged admirers to offer prayers for her elder sister, writing: “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately.”

Nevertheless, the musical icon’s production manager, Olly Rowland, has calmed worries regarding Dolly’s condition, reports The Mirror. 

He explained: “It’s just the kidney stones, and the procedure she needs to resolve those. It looks like her sister posted, and it got quite a bit blown out of proportion, weirdly.”

Beyond facing considerable health struggles during her career, Dolly has been devastated following the passing of her cherished spouse, Carl Dean, in March 2025.

The performer acknowledges feeling deeply emotional and finding it difficult to adjust to existence without him following their six decades as partners.

“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” she shared through social media. “Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”

Dolly first encountered Dean outside a laundromat on her initial day in Nashville as an ambitious 18 year old singer.

Reflecting on their first interaction, she expressed: “I was surprised and delighted that while he talked to me, he looked at my face (a rare thing for me). He seemed to be genuinely interested in finding out who I was and what I was about.”

Fast forward two years to May 30, 1966, the duo tied the knot in a private ceremony in Ringgold, Georgia. They enjoyed six decades of marital bliss, with Carl choosing to stay away from the public eye, content with managing his paving business from their farm.

Carl’s devotion to Dolly was evident when he confessed that he knew he would marry her the moment they met: “My first thought was I’m going to marry that girl,” Carl once revealed. “My second was, ‘Lord she’s good lookin.’ And that was the day my life began.”

Despite the pain of losing him, the iconic country singer later shared in a Knox News interview that she was “doing better than I thought I would.

“I’ve been with him 60 years,” she disclosed to the outlet. “So, I’m going to have to relearn some of the things that we’ve done. But I’ll keep him always close.

“I’m at peace that he’s at peace, but that don’t keep me from missing him and loving him,” Parton continued, acknowledging that Dean had “suffered a great deal. It’s a hole in my heart, you know, but we’ll fill that up with good stuff and he’ll still always be with me.”
