While speaking to Us Weekly in October 2025, alongside Jonathan, Drew explained that they decided to film their 2025 show, Chasing the West, and Property Brothers: Under Pressure, per fans’ suggestions. According to Drew, HGTV viewers were interested in a show focusing on “people who want to leave the city” for various reasons.
“So we did a show, and it’s funny to take people outside the city to this ranch life. They thought it was gonna be easy, staring at the mountains and sipping their wine, but it’s hard work,” said Drew in the Us Weekly interview.
Drew then said that “the new show is another one that our fans were asking for.”
“It’s the whole process. From house hunting [to] getting that offer in [and] renovating the house. It’s so interesting to see the different dynamics of families and what they feel that they don’t want to touch their home because they just don’t know where to start. We take that pressure off their shoulders and get them into their home,” said Drew while speaking to Us Weekly.
Jonathan also said those who are renovating their house will usually feel “under pressure.”
“If we had a room of 100 families that had just purchased or renovated a home, and we said, ‘How many of you felt that you were so under pressure that you want[ed] to quit the whole process?’ I guarantee you, every hand would go up right now. That’s just the state that we’re in right now, the cost of renovations, the chaos,” said Jonathan to the publication.
Drew & Jonathan Scott Said They’ve Had Long-Lasting Success Because They Listen to Their Fans
Since the 2011 premiere of Property Brothers, Jonathan and Drew have starred in several HGTV shows, such as Property Brothers at Home, Brother vs. Brother, Celebrity IOU, and Chasing the West, per IMDb.
In a July 2025 interview with TooFab, Jonathan and Drew shared that they believed they’ve had such long-lasting success on HGTV because they take their fans’ suggestions to heart.
“Jonathan and I create new shows and we’ve had a lot of iterations of shows because we’re listening to our fans. And it’s real real-time feedback from them through social media,” said Drew in the TooFab interview. “We get a half million questions or comments a week each from our fans saying, ‘We love this. We’d like to see this.'”
In addition, he said that he and his brother’s “production company, Scott Brothers Entertainment, is one of the largest unscripted producers in the country.”
“We have the couple of shows that we produce, but we have 15 series in total. And so, there are a lot of for us because we’re this big, well-oiled machine, we’re always changing. We’re always adapting because we’re listening to our audience,” said Drew in the interview.
