Earlier today, the ECHL Department of Player Safety announced that Reading Royals forward Jacob Frasca has been suspended for five games and fined an undisclosed amount due to leaving the penalty box during an altercation. Frasca will miss Reading’s upcoming games at Worcester, at Maine, and Trois-Rivieres, with the last game of his suspension being November 9th.

During the 2nd period of the Royals game at Greensboro, the Royals forward was involved in an on-ice altercation post-whistle. After the officials separated the players, they escorted Jacob Frasca to the penalty box. Moments later, before play resumed, the altercation continued below the goal when Frasca skated away from the penalty box to join the altercation. Gargoyles captain Logan Nelson was assessed a five-minute major for fighting as well as a 10-minute misconduct. Reading forward Jacob Frasca was assessed a 10-minute misconduct, as well as a game misconduct for leaving the penalty box. His brother would also pick up a fighting major during the altercation. The incident occurred with 6:55 remaining in the second period.

Frasca is in his second professional season, having played for the Cincinnati Cyclones last season. Last season with the Cyclones, Frasca had 15 points in 53 games. So far this season, the Reading forward has played in four games, scoring two goals and adding an assist. Frasca also has 12 penalty minutes and is a +1 so far this year. Prior to making his professional debut, Frasca spent time in the OHL, with the Barrie Colts and the Soo Greyhounds. Frasca’s best season in the OHL was with Barrie for the 2022-2023 season. He had 27 goals and 42 assists for 69 points in 68 games that season.
