British pop star Myles Smith, 27, rose to fame posting covers of popular songs on social media. His 2024 hits “Stargazing” and “Nice To Meet You” helped earn him the attention of pop sensation Ed Sheeran. Sheeran has tapped Smith to be the opening act on the North American leg of his 2026 LOOP tour, which is scheduled to begin on June 20 in Nashville. But Smith’s recent cover of the Taylor Swift and Bon Iver hit “Exile” is helping catapult him into superstar status of his own.
Smith stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge recently, where he gave an intimate acoustic performance, including a cover of Swift’s soulful “Exile,” which appeared on her Folklore album. Smith even wore the requisite cardigan sweater—a nod to a repeated theme on Swift’s Folklore album.
“Goosebumps,” wrote one fan after hearing Smith’s stunning, soulful rendition. “This brought tears hearing it live,” shared another.
“Love how humble he is about his success—he deserves everything,” offered another Myles Smith fan.

Touring With Ed Sheeran
Sheeran tapped Smith to open for him in Europe this year, and according to Smith, Sheeran’s fans want to keep him on tour with the ginger-haired singer. In a social media post, Smith shared he’ll be the opening act for the North American leg of Sheeran’s LOOP tour, writing, “The Sheerios have spoken, the higher powers have listened, and The Jaffa Cakes are heading to the US. 🍊🍫 Good news: I’m joining Ed on the US run. Bad news: they forgot to put The Jaffa Cakes on the posters. Good news again: this will go down as the year America discovered The Jaffa Cakes. Love ya brev – round 2.”
Humble Beginnings To Pop Stardom
Hailing from Luton, the British-born Smith came from humble beginnings and taught himself guitar and piano as a kid. He started to gain attention after posting acoustic covers of famous pop songs to TikTok. His cover of The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather” went viral and helped him build an audience.
The singer signed with Sony Music UK in 2023 and released breakout hit “Stargazing” in 2024.
With his star on the rise, it’s only a matter of time until Myles Smith is headlining his own tour—and new artists are sharing covers of his biggest hits.
