Eddie Vedder gave fans an unexpected surprise during a recent live appearance, debuting a brand-new original song titled “Better Believe” during a special performance tied to the opening of the Obama Presidential Center.
The Pearl Jam frontman introduced the track in collaboration with young musicians from the Guitars Over Guns mentorship program.
A Surprise Live Debut at a Historic Event
The song premiered during a live performance at the Obama Presidential Center dedication ceremony, where Vedder took the stage alongside student musicians from Chicago-based arts programs.
Rather than performing alone, Vedder shared the spotlight with emerging artists, turning the moment into a collaborative showcase of music education and community creativity.

“Better Believe” was created in partnership with participants from Guitars Over Guns, a nonprofit organization that provides music mentorship and education to young people.
The track was co-written and performed with students and alumni from Columbia College Chicago’s audio arts programs. Royalties Vedder and co-writers will earn will benefit the nonprofit organization and support its initiatives of using music and arts to support at-risk-youth.
