The Eddington HBO Max streaming release date has been set for Ari Aster’s 2025 neo-Western thriller starring Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal.
When does Eddington come out on HBO Max?
Eddington will make its streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max on November 14, 2025. Alongside the streaming release, Eddington will also begin airing on HBO’s linear cable network on November 15, beginning at 8 p.m. EST.
Eddington comes from Ari Aster, who previously directed Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau Is Afraid. The movie was also written by Aster, with Lars Knudsen, Aster, and Ann Ruark serving as producers for the project. It was also the second film for both Aster and Phoenix from a collaborative standpoint, with Phoenix also having starred in Beau Is Afraid.
Alongside Phoenix and Pascal, Eddington also stars Austin Butler, Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, Clifton Collins Jr., William Belleau, Cameron Mann, Matt Gomez Hidaka, and Amélie Hoeferle.
“A small-town sheriff (Phoenix) and mayor (Pascal) sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico,” the official synopsis for Eddington reads.
The film premiered in July 2025, and received mostly positive reviews from critics. It earned $12.7 million in the box office. A sequel is not planned, although Aster has said that a film that exists within the same universe as Eddington is something he’s been toying with.
