- All proceeds from “Masker” will benefit the non-profit Stichting Plant een Olijfboom.
- Elias Mazian has released a new song to benefit ongoing relief efforts in Gaza.
The Dutch artist shared the track, “Maskers,” via Job Jobse‘s De Vlieger label last week. Produced with Eelco Bakker and Anton Pieete, all proceeds from the release will go to support Stichting Plant Een Olijfboom, a Dutch non-profit that supports Palestinian farmers and works to defy land confiscation by allowing donors to sponsor olive trees planted in the country.
In a recent statement, Mazian said that he wrote “Maskers” as a “personal reflection on the ongoing injustice against Palestinians,” addressing both “the madness in Gaza” and “the promise of eventual liberation.”
He added: “The walls of oppression have never been more visible, and they will fall. One day Palestine will be free. And for that I’m obligated to the Palestinians to keep hope, and so I wrote this song because I couldn’t do otherwise.”
