Season 5 of “Emily in Paris” premieres on Thursday, Dec. 18, but not all the stars are returning for the next chapter.
Camille Razat, who plays Camille, left the Netflix series after season 4.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for season 4 of “Emily in Paris.”
Razat played Emily Cooper’s (Lily Collins) friend turned nemesis for the first four seasons of the Netflix series. Emily and Camille’s relationship soured after Emily developed romantic feelings for Camille’s boyfriend Gabriel (Lucas Bravo).
After a lengthy “will they, won’t they” period, Emily and Gabriel finally pursued a relationship during season 4. Things grew complicated when Camille discovered she was pregnant with Gabriel’s baby, eventually leading to Emily and Gabriel’s breakup. Camille later discovered that her pregnancy was a false positive, and she left Paris for a fresh start.

“I think her story kind of had a natural finish,” series creator Darren Star told Deadline of Razat’s departure from “Emily in Paris.”
In an April Instagram post, Razat said that she’d “made the decision to step away” from the series.
“It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories,” she continued. “This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end. It felt like the right moment to explore new horizons. … I leave the show with nothing but love and admiration for the cast, crew, and fans who have supported us along the way.”

Collins left a supportive comment for her costar, writing, “Love you sister. It’s been a wild ride and an absolute pleasure. You’re a rockstar. So proud of you.”
Collins and Bravo will reprise their respective roles as Emily and Gabriel during season 5. With both Gabriel and Emily’s new love interest Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) vying for her heart in season 5, anything could happen.
“Her love life is always complicated,” Star said. “We have Marcello, Lucas Bravo is going to be back this season [as Gabriel], so we have some interesting, surprising developments in terms of her love life.”
In addition to Collins, Bravo and Franceschini, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert) and Lucien Laviscount (Alfie) are all returning for season 5.
