Rihanna and Eminem are no strangers to smashing major career milestones, as solo artists and as collaborators.
Now, one project they worked on together over a decade ago has earned them a huge accomplishment.
In 2013, Eminem and Rihanna released the song “The Monster,” with the single going on to be a huge hit at the time, landing in the Billboard Hot 100 top spot for four weeks. But though 12 years may have passed, it turns out the music video is just as popular today, recently surpassing the 10-digit milestone on YouTube for views.
The music video made a statement with its grunge aesthetic, featuring Rihanna as a therapist observing Eminem while his career highlights played out on a television screen. Another part of the video addressed Eminem’s issues with substance abuse, as Ri played a nurse attending to the rapper while he was in a straitjacket.
Fans took to the comment section of the video to share their thoughts on the monster collaboration, along with all of its continued success.

“Eminem with Rihanna is one of the best collaboration and also the weird one,” wrote a fan, as another stated, “1 billion today LET’S GO!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.” Meanwhile, a different fan said, “Who’s here to celebrate that 1 billion views? 🎉🎉.”
One fan declared, “This is one hell of a monster, not losing popularity over the years,” as another expressed, “this duo is legendary. Rihanna slays the chorus, he slays the verses,”
“Eminem and Rihanna should do more collabs, they’re amazing together,” declared another fan, while one pointed out, “I don’t believe that time flies faster 11years ago! Wow! Don’t let this legend song dies😢😢😢.”
It’s not the first time that the duo achieved such an honor, as the video for their 2010 mega-hit “Love the Way You Lie” also passed YouTube’s one billion mark.
Along with “The Monster” and “Love the Way You Lie”, Eminem and Rihanna previously released “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)” and “Numb.”
It’s hard to believe it’s been so long since this video and song came out, but it’s clear that fans are eager for another Rihanna and Eminem team-up, and considering all their success together, it wouldn’t be a bad idea.
