The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are still days away, but the ceremony is already sparking backlash after the seating chart was revealed.
This year, it’s not just about who got nominated or who didn’t — it’s about who will be sitting front and center, and who’s been pushed to the sidelines.
According to The Sun, Sydney Sweeney, 27, scored a coveted front-row seat just steps from the stage, placing her ahead of industry legends like Harrison Ford, who, at 83, received his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in the Apple TV+ series Shrinking. Also seated behind Sweeney are Jude Law, Christopher Meloni, Sarah Paulson, and Sam Rockwell.
Sweeney will be joined by fellow presenter Catherine Zeta-Jones and nominees Jason Segel and Javier Bardem.
Other stars sitting front and center include presenters Jenna Ortega and Jennifer Coolidge, as well as nominee Quinta Brunson. Selena Gomez, whose series Only Murders in the Building is nominated, has also been placed in a prime spot — one row ahead of her iconic co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin, and directly in front of Jake Gyllenhaal.
Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, and Colman Domingo will also enjoy front-row views.
Among this year’s hit ensembles, Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman of Netflix’s The Hunting Wives will be seated together, and so will Hacks stars Hannah Einbinder and Jean Smart.
The seating chart also sets up several nostalgic reunions. Gilmore Girls co-stars Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham are expected to take the stage together, according to E! News, giving fans a touch of Stars Hollow at television’s biggest night.
The 2025 Emmy Awards will air live from Los Angeles on September 14 on ABC.
