Entertainment briefs | Arcata Arts Institute holds a talent show – Times-Standard

Talent showcase

The Arcata Arts Institute will present “Got Talent Season 5: You’re a Good Tiger, Arcata High” Friday at 7 p.m. in the Arcata High School Fine Arts Building.

This event features students and faculty displaying their talents. Doors at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for students and seniors. Tickets are available in advance at https://tinyurl.com/AAIAGT5 or at the door.

Foucault performs

Jeffrey Foucault will perform Friday at 7 p.m. at the Arcata Playhouse, 1251 Ninth St., Arcata.

Tickets are $22 general or $20 for Playhouse fans. Tickets are available at www.playhousearts.org or at the door. Local beer will be on tap and specialty drinks will be available at the bar. Doors open a half-hour before the show.

Harmonaires perform

The Humboldt Harmonaires, a barber shop choir will present the annual fall concert, “Beer and Peanuts,” Friday from 6:59 to 8:30 p.m. at the Eureka Woman’s Club, 1531 J St., Eureka.

Tickets are $15 at door. Beer, soda and peanuts are included with admission. Doors open at 630 p.m.

Folk dancing

The Humboldt Folk Dancers invite the public to an international folk dance party Friday from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at the Redwood Raks World Dance Studio, 824 L St., Arcata.

The event features easy dances and an evening of international music with Chubritza. The cost is $5 to $10, sliding scale, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds. All ages and dance levels are welcome, and you don’t need a partner. For more information, call 707-496-6734 or go to humboldtfolkdancers.org.
