Mozart Requiem Eucharist

A Requiem Eucharist in commemoration of All Souls’ Day, 4 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th St. Little Rock, will include a performance by the Trinity Choir and members of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem in d minor, K. 626, in its liturgical context. Conductor workshop

The International Conductors Guild will hold a conductor workshop at the Arkansas Symphony’s Stella Boyle Smith Music Center, 1101 E. Third St., Little Rock, next week with Music Director Geoffrey Robson, John Farrer and Julius P. Williams serving as coaches. Selected participants will conduct pieces with the orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Friday; the program includes Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 in C major, op.21; the second movement of Florence Price’s String Quartet No. 1 in G major; and the Serenade for Strings in C major, op.48, by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky. ‘Special Occasions: 2.0’

The North Little Rock Community Concert Band closes out its 2025 concert season at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Patrick Henry Hays Center, 401 W. Pershing Blvd., North Little Rock. Music Director Rico Belotti conducts a program he’s titling “Special Occasions: 2.0,” music that celebrates special occasions celebrated by various organizations, religions and individuals around the world. The program includes “A Winter’s Journey” by Arkansas composer Randall D. Standridge; “Eternal Father, Strong To Save” by Robert W. Smith, a salute to the United States Marine Corps on its 250th birthday; segueing into the official arrangement of “The Marines’ Hymn” by Edward M. Van Loock; John Philip Sousa’s march, “Semper Fidelis,” marking Sousa’s Nov. 6 birthday; “Candlelight Carol” by John Rutter, honoring the British composer’s recent 80th birthday; and “What’s Up At The Symphony?”, Jerry Brubaker’s arrangement of classical tunes and theme songs associated with Bugs Bunny, celebrating the 85th anniversary of Bugs’ first cartoon appearance.

Associate Music Director Bill Spainhour takes the podium for “The Olympics: A Centennial Celebration,” a medley of music that John Williams and Leo Arnaud composed for various Olympiads, arranged by John Moss, to celebrate the upcoming 25th Winter Olympics, and Sousa’s “U.S. Field Artillery March” to mark the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army.

Paintings, ceramics & abstracts

Paintings and sculptures by Mark Blaney, ceramics by Soyoon Ahn and abstract works by Sharon Locke go on display with a 6-9 p.m. reception Saturday at Boswell Mourot Fine Art, 1501 Main St., Little Rock. UCA exhibition

The University of Central Arkansas’ Fall 2025 BA/BFA Senior Exhibition opens with a 4-7 p.m. reception today in the Baum Gallery, Room 145, McCastlain Hall at UCA, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway. ‘Town in Conflict’

Historic Washington State Park, 103 Franklin St., Washington, Ark., in partnership with the Nevada County Depot Museum, will examine aspects of life in Southwest Arkansas during the Civil War in “Town in Conflict” on Saturday. Things kick off at 11 a.m. with a re-enactment of the 1864 skirmish at Prairie D’Ane Battlefield, the closest battle to Washington, on a portion of the original battlefield, at 2243 Arkansas 19 North in Prescott, off Exit 46 of Interstate 30. Starting at 1 p.m. the park offers programs about life on the home front, including what life was like for civilian refugees, 19th-century burial and mourning customs, military camps and drills, Civil War Era medicine, community hospital and 19th-century political issues. A Civil War Period Ball closes out the day at 7 p.m.

Cabot Bridal Show

More than 25 wedding professionals, including DJs, photographers and caterers, available to help couples tie the knot in style, will take part in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s Cabot Wedding Show, 1-3 p.m. Sunday at C&C by the Lake, 920 W. Arkansas 89, Cabot.

One couple will be selected at random at 3 p.m. to win the Ultimate Wedding Package, valued at more than $5,000, including photography, wedding jewelry, a wedding cake and a DJ package. Additional prizes will be awarded throughout the show. Each engaged couple in attendance will receive a complimentary copy of the 2025 Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Wedding Planner, featuring wedding timelines, wedding inspiration, photography, editorials, checklists and a directory of local wedding businesses.
