Jazz at the Joint

Saxophonist Seleno “Sal” Crocker joins the Ted Ludwig Trio — jazz guitarist Ted Ludwig, percussionist Brian Brown and bassist Joe Vick — for the opening session in the Jazz at the Joint series, 7:30 p.m. Friday in a new location: ACT II 315 Main St. in North Little Rock’s Argenta Arts District.

Tickets are $30.

The rest of the lineup (all shows, 7:30 p.m. Friday at ACT II, with the Ted Ludwig Trio):

TheatreSquared lineup

TheatreSquared, 477 W. Spring St., Fayetteville, opens its 2026-27 Main Stage season Sept. 9-27 with the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play “Fences” by August Wilson.

The rest of the lineup:

◼️ Nov. 18-Dec. 13: “Little Women,” adapted by Lauren Gunderson from the novel by Louisa May Alcott

◼️ Feb. 3-28: “Cowboys and East Indians” by Nina McConigley & Matthew Spangler, developed at TheatreSquared’s Arkansas New Play Festival with a subsequent premiere at Denver Center for the Performing Arts

◼️ April 7-25, 2027: “The 39 Steps,” adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock classic, with a cast of four playing 150-plus characters

◼️ June 2-20, 2027: “Eureka Day” by Jonathan Spector, winner of the 2025 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.

The theater company is also introducing a new Family Series:

◼️ July 17-19: “Disney’s Newsies Jr.” (music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, book by Harvey Fierstein)

◼️ Dec. 10-24: “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)” by Michael Carleton, James FitzGerald, and John K. Alvarez. “Tired of performing Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ for the umpteenth time, three actors decide to take matters into their own hands.”

◼️ April 23-May 2, 2027: “A Year With Frog and Toad” (music by Robert Reale, book and lyrics by Willie Reale, based on the books by Arnold Lobel).

AUDITIONS

‘Shrek’ at Wildwood

Wildwood Park for the Arts, 20919 Denny Road, will hold auditions June 13, with callbacks on June 14, for “Shrek the Musical” (music by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, based on the 2001 DreamWorks Animation film). Bevan Keating will direct; Christina Muñoz will be the choreographer. Production dates are Nov. 13-15 and 20-22. Additional information on auditions will eventually appear at wildwoodpark.org.
