THEATER

‘Rocky Horror’ onstage

Actors Theatre of Little Rock does the Time Warp again, with a reprise production of “The Rocky Horror Show” (music, lyrics and book by Richard O’Brien), 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday through Oct. 31 with an additional Oct. 26 midnight show at Little Rock’s Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, 1601 Louisiana St.

The show, which the theater group staged in its “Season Zero” in October 2022, also marks the 50th anniversary of the release of the movie version, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

Strait-laced couple Brad and Janet, seeking help after their car breaks down on a stormy night, stumble into the castle that is the residence of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist who has been experimenting in creating life, and a whole host of outrageous creatures.

Tickets are $35 for “immersive” seating (you get to be part of the production), $20 for non-immersive seats, $25 for general admission, via actorstheatrelr.org/tickets; $5 more at the door.

“TINA – The Tina Turner Musical” (featuring Turner songs with a book by Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins) is onstage at 7 p.m. Thursday at Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway. The jukebox musical covers the “comeback story like no other, of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of racism, sexism and ageism to become the global Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll,” according to a news release. Tickets are $34.50-$57.50, $11.50 for children and students (available only by contacting the box office). Call (501) 450-3265 or (866) 810-0012 or visit uca.edu/publicappearances.

‘Neil Diamond Musical’

Nick Fradiani, the 2015 Season 4 winner of “American Idol,” plays “Neil Diamond — Then” in “A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical,” onstage at 7 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, 1:30 and 7 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at Fayetteville’s Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Dickson St. The jukebox musical, created in collaboration with Diamond, features Diamond’s songs with a book by Anthony McCarten. DANCE

‘Dracula’ redux

NWA Ballet Theatre performs “Dracula. Here. Now. — The Sequel,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Auditorium, 36 S. Main St., Eureka Springs, and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the the Jim & Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center, University of Arkansas, 453 Garland Ave., Fayetteville.

Inspiration for the ballet, choreographed by Stephen Wynn to Wojciech Kilar’s score for the movie “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” and Philip Glass’ String Quartet No. 3, comes from the postscript of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.”

Dracula’s death stirs the Ancient Spirits, resulting in a fierce struggle between the Queen of Ancient Spirits and the fading Countess Dracula. Meanwhile, Jonathan and Mina Harker return to Transylvania with their teenage daughter, Quincey — only for her to be ensnared in the castle’s sinister games.

Preceding each performance:

◼️ 6:45 p.m.: A pre-show director’s chat.

◼️ 7:15 p.m.: A Halloween costume contest. (First prize is two tickets to NWA Ballet Theatre’s 13th annual production of “The Nutcracker” at Bentonville’s Arend Arts Center. Winners will be announced the night of the show.)

Each performance will also offer a post-show question-and-answer session with the cast.

Tickets for each show are $25. Visit nwaballettheatre.org/dracula2.
