Luggi Foeger Uphill / Downhill Festival – Diamond Peak Ski Resort, 1210 Ski Way. 7th Annual Luggi Foeger Uphill/Downhill Festival & SkiMo Race: March 28, 2026 The Lake Tahoe Basin’s premier SkiMo competition and an incredibly family-friendly event. Competitors race to the top of the mountain using whatever human-powered method you prefer – skins, snowshoes, running shoes, etc. – then ski, snowboard, snowshoe, or run back down to the finish line. For those of a less competitive nature, a recreational course to mid-mountain is available. The event will also include activities in the base area including uphill demos, a DJ and awards ceremony in the Loft Bar! Then, the fun continues with a winter-wildlife snowshoe hike Sunday morning. North Tahoe Community Choir Spring Concert – Paradise Lost – 2-4 p.m., St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 341 Village Blvd.. Please join the North Tahoe Community Choir, directed by Donna Axton, for our Spring Concert featuring “Paradise Lost,” a musical adaptation of John Milton’s epic poem by J.A. Winter Wildlife Sunrise Snowshoe Hike – 7:30-9 a.m., Diamond Peak Ski Resort, 1210 Ski Way. Join us for an early morning snowshoe hike at Diamond Peak Ski Resort on Sunday, March 29 as part of the 2026 Luggi Foeger Uphill/Downhill Festival . This short and scenic hike will take you part way up Diamond Peak as Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) naturalist, Sarah Hockensmith discusses winter ecology concepts and the survival strategies and adaptations employed by animals from the Lake Tahoe Region. After the hike, grab some breakfast from Base Lodge Provisions and learn more about our wildlife and ecosystems. REGISTER ONLINE The hike is free (with a suggested donation to TINS) and snowshoes are available to rent from TINS for $10. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Pre-registration is required. Registration opens about a month prior to the event.
