A starry night, indeed.

The list of presenters for the 2025 Emmy Awards was officially announced on Tues., Sept. 9. Jason Bateman, Kathy Bates, Tina Fey, Kathryn Hahn, Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni, Jude Law, Jenna Ortega, Jeff Prost, Sofia Vergara and Catherine Zeta-Jones and more will all be taking the Peacock Theatre stage in Los Angeles on Sept. 14.

Joining them will be Eric Dane, who revealed just five months ago that he has ALS.

“I wake up every day and I’m immediately reminded that this is happening,” he told Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview after going public with the news in April. “It’s not a dream.”

About a year and a half prior to receiving the life-altering diagnosis, the Grey’s Anatomy alum, 52, began experiencing some weakness in his right hand, though at the time he didn’t think anything of it.

“I thought maybe I had been texting too much or my hand was fatigued,” Dane recalled. “But a few weeks later, I noticed it had gotten a little worse. So I went and saw a hand specialist who sen me to another hand specialist. I went and saw a neurologist, and the neurologist sent me to another neurologist and said, ‘This is way above my paygrade.'”

Nine months later, the actor finally had his answer: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a neurodegenerative disorder also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease that “robs people of the ability to walk, talk, and eventually breath,” per the ALS Association — and one for which there is no known cure.

“I’m fighting as much as I can,” he declared. “There’s so much about it that’s out of my control.”

During the interview, Dane shared that he has since lost the use of his right arm. “[It’s] completely stopped working,” he said, adding that his left arm is “going” too. “I feel like maybe a couple, few more months, and I won’t have my left hand either. It’s sobering.”

Still, the father of two, who shares daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13, with ex Rebecca Gayheart, is determined to keep going.

“I don’t think this is the end of my story. I just don’t feel, like in my heart, I don’t feel like this is the end of me,” said Dane. “I mean, I really, at the end of the day, just, all I want to do is, is spend time with my family and work a little bit if I can.”

He began filming season 3 of the HBO Max hit Euphoria in April and is starring in a new Amazon Prime crime drama series called Countdown opposite Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles.

“I’m going to ride this till the wheels fall off,” he told E! News. “It keeps me sharp. It keeps me moving forward, which is super important right now.”

Dane went on to share that he feels great when he’s at work. “Of course, there have been some sort of setbacks,” he admitted. “But I feel pretty good. My spirit is always pretty buoyant, so at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.”

He made his first appearance since publicly disclosing the diagnosis at Amazon MGM’s premiere of Countdown in Los Angeles in June, telling Variety at the time, “I feel good.”
