ESCONDIDO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — People are invited to journey back in the time to the 16th century this weekend at the Escondido Renaissance Faire.
The event, which has operated by Old Tyme Productions Inc. for more than 20 years, will take place on two weekends: April 25-26 and May 2-3.
People of all ages can immerse themselves in activities reminiscent of the Renaissance time period including archery and jousting tournaments, music by the Banjo Bard and other live entertainment.

Requirements for people to take part in the archery tournament include a costume, a traditional bow and wooden arrows fletched with feathers.
Food and drink offerings include turkey legs, beer, wine and — of course — mead. A map of the various activities, stages and food vendors can be found here.
Costume attire is encouraged for attendants, but not required.
The faire will be held at Felicita County Park at 742 Clarence Lane in Escondido from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on each day of the event. Overflow parking with a free shuttle will be available at the JC Penney Parking Lot at 290 E. Via Rancho Pkwy.
Ticket prices vary depending on the number of days guests plan to attend. Single-day tickets cost $32 for adults, $14 for children ages 5-11 and $27 for seniors over 65, military members and law enforcement. Children under the age of 5 may attend for free.
Tickets for the faire must be purchased onsite. More information about the programming schedule can be found on Olde Tyme Productions Inc.’s website.
