It’s a happy Halloween for horror fans. FX anthology series American Horror Story is returning for Season 13, with singer and Wicked star Ariana Grande joining the cast.
Creator Ryan Murphy shared the news in an Instagram post on Friday, which featured a list of actors who would be heading to the upcoming season of the show. (Their names were all featured in the iconic American Horror Story font, of course.) The video was set to Vera Lynn’s 1944 song “I’ll Be Seeing You.”
In addition to Grande, the cast included longtime fan favorites. Jessica Lange, who starred in the first four seasons of the show before returning as a special guest star in Season 8’s time-travel crossover Apocalypse, is returning. Evan Peters, who did not appear in Seasons 9, 11 or 12, will also be back. Sarah Paulson, who appeared on the first 10 seasons of the show before taking a two-season break, is also set to return. In addition, actors Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman will also reappear on the spooky series.
The news means a reunion for Grande and her former Scream Queens costars Lourd and Roberts, who played sorority sisters hunted by a serial killer on the two-season-long Fox show, which was also created by Murphy. The actress also announced Friday that she has wrapped filming Focker In-Law with Ben Stiller, the fourth film in the Meet the Parents franchise.
It’s unknown what the new season of American Horror Story will be about, or if it will have ties to previous seasons. American Horror Story: Delicate, the show’s most recent season, aired from 2023 to 2024. The season, based on Danielle Valentine’s Delicate Condition, starred Roberts as an actress struggling with a potentially evil pregnancy. Kim Kardashian also appeared in the season in her first major acting role.
