Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan are back with the third installment of their hit Monster anthology series — this time turning their lens on one of the most chilling figures in true-crime history: Ed Gein. Following the global success of Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, the eight-episode series revisits the gruesome crimes that haunted 1950s rural Wisconsin and inspired some of Hollywood’s most iconic horror films.
Starring Charlie Hunnam as Gein, the show explores the lonely recluse whose grisly acts — from grave-robbing to multiple murders — would go on to shape cinematic classics like Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Silence of the Lambs.

What it’s about
Monster: The Ed Gein Story unpacks the twisted life of a seemingly mild-mannered recluse living on a decaying farm in 1950s rural Wisconsin. Beneath the surface, Gein was hiding a house of horrors that would redefine the American nightmare. Driven by isolation, psychosis, and an obsessive attachment to his mother, his crimes — including grave-robbing and murder — would forever change the cultural landscape.
