Good 4 u, Olivia Rodrigo fans: After a three-year wait, the pop star announced that she is finally releasing her third studio album in 2026.

More from Billboard

Rodrigo announced on the second day of April that her next LP will be titled You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, formally kicking off her next album era. Sharing the project’s dreamy artwork, Rodrigo wrote, “I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Leading up to the big news, anticipation for fresh material from Rodrigo had been at an all-time high. There had been whispers that she was gearing up to drop something when a pink mural wall in Los Angeles — which fans linked back to the Grammy winner — popped up, displaying the phrase that would end up being the album’s title in curly-cue writing. But even before that, fans had been jonesing for new tunes, as Rodrigo hasn’t released a full-length since 2023. Her last album, sophomore effort Guts, opened atop the Billboard 200 and spawned Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single “Vampire.” Two years prior, her chart-topping debut LP, Sour propelled Rodrigo to global superstardom, boosted by No. 1 hits “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U.”

Now, she’s got a batch of new future hits coming our way — and as the days count down to OR3, Billboard is keeping an updating list of everything we know so far. From the release date to its cover art, track count, lyrical themes and more, check out all there is to know about about You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love below.

The Release Date

As revealed by Rodrigo on the day of her announcement, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love will arrive on June 12.

The Cover Art

The first of her albums to feature zero traces of purple on the cover, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love‘s artwork shows Rodrigo tipped upside down while pumping her legs on a park swing, smiling unabashedly.

The Producer

Dan Nigro helped Rodrigo create her first two albums, and You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love finds the dynamic duo reuniting. “Olivia and I made an album,” the producer wrote on Instagram following the album announcement. “I’m pretty excited about it!”

The Number of Tracks

Rodrigo quietly revealed the number of songs on You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love when the album’s countdown page appeared on streaming services. Without sharing the titles yet, the countdown showed that the project has a total of 13 tracks.

It’s Full of ‘Sad Love Songs’

The title of You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love apparently hits the nail on the head in terms of what its songs are about, with Rodrigo telling British Vogue ahead of its release that it’s an album of “sad love songs.” “I realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them,” she explained to the publication.

“I felt a similar way about falling in love, that the second I’m in a really great relationship, I’m gonna start feeling good about myself, and this stuff is going to fall into place,” she added. “But it just doesn’t work like that.”

‘Sex and the City’ Inspired One Song

British Vogue also teased one song on Rodrigo’s album with a “dreamier, hazier” vibe. The singer told the publication that the track was inspired by a moment in Sex and the City when Miranda tells Steve, “Whenever something funny happens, I always want to tell you about it.”
