Emcee and Grammy-winning producer Evidence recently announced his highly anticipated new album, Unlearning Vol. 2, set to drop on August 15th through Rhymesayers Entertainment. Today, he’s sharing his final pre-release track, “Dutch Angle.” Produced by QThree, and accompanied by a video directed by Stephen Vanasco. The track and video are a seamless reflection of Evidence’s introspective style, steeped in the dim undercurrents of his beloved Los Angeles.
“Dutch Angle” is not only the title but also a metaphor for the perspective his music videos often convey. Named after a cinematography technique that involves tilting the camera to create a sense of disorientation and tension, the song’s music video uses this visual style to amplify Evidence’s raw, moody aesthetic, emphasizing lyrics that connect to the album’s ethos such as “Reset button pusher, starting over is the funnest part, winter’s bright to me and summer’s dark.”
The album features recently released singles: “Rain Every Season,” featuring Evidence’s longtime associate and acclaimed producer The Alchemist; “Outta Bounds,” with a video directed by Stephen Vanasco; “Different Phases,” produced by Beat Butcha and Coop The Truth, accompanied by a video directed by SHEESH; and “Nothing To See Here,” featuring a video directed by Evidence and shot by Louis Llewellyn.
The album boasts production from Evidence himself, as well as The Alchemist, Conductor Williams, Graymatter, C-Lance, QThree, Sebb Bash, Beat Butcha, and Coop The Truth. Guest features on the album include The Alchemist, Larry June, Domo Genesis, Blu, and Theravada. Unlearning Vol. 2 finds Evidence at his most soulful and self-assured—a smoky, introspective journey where grief, growth, and sharp lyricism collide in fearless reinvention.
Evidence recently announced an album release headline performance at Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, CA on August 23rd, featuring support from Blu, Theravada, QThree, and Jay Midnight. Additionally, he will also be headlining an international tour with tickets on sale RIGHT HERE.
