The Times reported that Andrew, 65, has signed paperwork acknowledging the end of his lease through the Crown Estate. However, because the notice period is believed to be at least 12 months, Andrew is entitled to remain at the property for another year.
A source quoted by the outlet said the move-out process will not be quick. They added that “you’re not going to see the removal vans outside Royal Lodge anytime soon.” Another person familiar with the situation alleged that Andrew is prepared to take his time. They told reporters earlier that Andrew “ain’t going anywhere.”
Logistics may also be slowing progress. Royal Lodge is described as more than a home. The 30-room property has been Andrew’s home for over two decades.
