News about a large development called Miramar Cove is followed up by a contractor fair, where developers are seeking workers to join them in building the new complex.

Monday
Set the Pace — 6:45 p.m.
The Miramar Run Club is always welcoming new runners to its all-levels run on Mondays. Whether you’re walking, jogging or running, you can keep your own pace with this group. Meet them at City Hall Plaza; the run starts at 7 p.m.
Tuesday
Rhythms & Rhymes Storytime — 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Get help with preparation for preschool at the Miramar Branch Library. Rhythms & Rhymes Storytime features books and activities that help little ones develop social and learning skills. Staff will be available to answer questions.
Family Movies hosted by Miramar Branch Library — 2 p.m.
Head to the Miramar Branch Library to see a family-friendly movie. Bring a blanket and the kids to get out of the summer heat. Call the desk to inquire about the movie selection. Possible movies are “Raya and the Last Dragon” and “Wonka.”
Mat Pilates — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This Pilates class is strength-focused and open to all levels. Bring a mat to the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center to join this exercise that teaches you how to move with greater alignment and awareness. Tickets are $24.
Zumba on the Plaza — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Gaby Zumba Fit takes over City Hall Plaza every Tuesday with a Zumba class. The group dances with Latin moves to high-energy music. Make sure to bring water to this workout.
Weekly Live Trivia Night at World of Beer — 7 p.m.
Do you have a trivia team ready to compete? Gather your friends and head to World of Beer every Tuesday for the free competition. Register the group at Challenge Entertainment to participate.
Wednesday
Miramar Cove Contractor Fair — 9 to 11 a.m.
Miramar Cove is a large mixed-use development being built at Miramar Parkway and Red Road, featuring apartments, shops and a hotel. Now that Sunbeam has broken ground on the project, it is looking for contractors to continue the work. Painters, roofers, asphalt operators, plumbers, landcapers, HVAC technicians and more are needed. The contractor fair will be held at the Miramar commission chambers. Register on Eventbrite.
Thursday
Line Dancing — 6 to 8 p.m.
This dance class features line dancing moves to popular songs. Instructor Jammin Jamei helps attendees follow along to the music for two hours of fun. Join the group for free at the Vernon E. Hargray Youth Enrichment Center.
Pilates In The Park — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
If you’re interested in Pilates, try mat Pilates outdoors with Haus of Align. Build strength with moves that learners from all levels can follow. Tickets are $24 for this class at Miramar Regional Park.
Zumba Hosted by Mayor Wayne M. Messam — 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This Zumba class is another high-energy workout hosted by the city. Join instructor Gabriela Jurado for a fun-filled dance class, where following the moves helps you work up a sweat. The class takes place at the Sunset Lakes Community Center for free.
Open Mic Night — 8 to 11:30 p.m.
Check out this free open mic night at Miramar Seafood and Steak. They are calling all singers, dancers, actors and musicians to participate in the show. Show up to support local performers or enjoy Miramar Seafood and Steak’s menu.
