KATSEYE has earned another major victory in the early days of the WILD era. Following a blockbuster streaming debut, the group’s new song, “Animal,” has now been voted the best new release of the week by fans in our latest Instagram Stories poll.
The poll featured four of the week’s biggest releases across pop and K-pop. KATSEYE led the voting with 35%, finishing ahead of JENNIE’s “Less Than a Lover” (28%), Charli xcx’s new album Music, Fashion, Film (20%), and Tyla’s sophomore album A*POP (17%).
The result continues the strong momentum surrounding “Animal.” Released on July 24 as the latest preview of KATSEYE’s upcoming EP WILD, the song debuted at No. 9 on Spotify’s Daily Global Songs chart with 3.346 million streams, becoming the biggest first-day Spotify debut of the group’s career. While “Gabriela” remains KATSEYE’s highest-charting song after peaking at No. 7, “Animal” now owns the strongest opening-day performance in the group’s catalog.
The ambitious rollout has also fueled excitement. Directed by Cody Critcheloe, the music video pairs cinematic visuals, mirrored realities and striking choreography with a surprise cameo from Academy Award-nominated actress Demi Moore. Musically, “Animal” gives Sophia, Lara, Daniela, Megan and Yoonchae extended solo moments while exploring themes of confidence and embracing one’s instincts. The single also serves as another glimpse into WILD, arriving August 14 via HYBE x Geffen Records.
JENNIE secured second place in the fan vote with “Less Than a Lover,” which has enjoyed an equally impressive commercial launch. The self-written and self-composed song debuted at No. 34 on Spotify’s Daily Global chart with 2.261 million streams, while simultaneously reaching No. 1 on iTunes in at least 27 countries. The music video also topped YouTube’s Worldwide Trending Music Videos chart after collecting 5.7 million views during its first 24 hours, giving the BLACKPINK star one of the strongest solo debuts of 2026.
Meanwhile, Charli xcx’s Music, Fashion, Film finished third after making an immediate impact on streaming platforms. The album generated 10.5 million Spotify streams during its opening day and quickly climbed to No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes Albums chart, extending the momentum surrounding her first full-length project since BRAT.
Rounding out the poll was Tyla’s A*POP. Although none of the album’s tracks entered Spotify’s Daily Global Songs chart on release day, the project still generated 4.82 million Spotify streams in its first full day.
