Fans lash out, accuse liberal celebrity TV scientist of going MAGA

No one could ever accuse famed astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson of not being sufficiently critical of President Donald Trump.

After all, the Harvard grad has done it again and again.

Nonetheless, he found himself the target of ire from his fans after he posted a photo on his social media platforms showing himself with several hats that are takeoffs on President Donald Trump’s famous “Make America Great Again” meme.

The red hats were emblazoned with such slogans as “Make America Great Again,” “Make America Smart Again,” “Make Lying Wrong Again” and “Relax It’s Just A Red Hat,” celebrity.land reported.

“Decisions, Decisions,” Tyson wrote in an accompanying caption. “Which hat to wear today?”

Tyson also posted a poll asking followers to vote on which hat he should wear. “Make Lying Wrong Again” was the early favorite.

But fans were uncertain whether the celebrity scientist was endorsing Trump or mocking the president.

“Deeply disappointed with you snuggling up with nazis. Followed you my whole life. Now vocally against you and what you’re pushing. Gross,” one commenter wrote.

Others sought clarity.

“A bunch of people seem to be reading some ambiguity into this post. I really think you need to make it very clear what you’re getting at here,” another commenter wrote. “A thorough and clear disambiguation would really help me to not argue with my friends about what you mean.”

Others, however, appeared to be in on the gag.

“An influencer who has stood on the mental and emotional side of humanity his whole social career is going to get canceled because he has a sense of humor. This is why they call Democrats snowflakes,” one such commenter wrote. “Get a spine!”
