It’s official: Kelly Clarkson is saying goodbye to daytime TV.
Fans have watched Kelly headline her own talk series, The Kelly Clarkson Show, since it premiered in September 2019. Over the last seven years, she’s performed multiple Kellyoke covers, interviewed fellow celebrities, and she even created new music along the way. Folks loved tuning in every weekday on NBC to see what Kelly had up her sleeve for viewers.
Most recently, Kelly turned to Instagram to share some surprising news about the future of her TV career. In an emotional Instagram post published on February 2, she told fans that The Kelly Clarkson Show will end after seven seasons on NBC. The original American Idol winner got sentimental about what this hosting journey has meant to her, and opened up about the decision to end the daytime series. Kelly says she wants to be more available for her two kids, daughter River Rose and son Remington “Remy” Alexander.
“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and New York,” she began. “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons … Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision—but this season will be my last hosting TKCS.”
“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this chapter of our lives,” she added. “This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time … you never know where I might show up next.”
Everyone rallied around Kelly to show their support following the news.

As many fans know, Kelly has had a lot happen both professionally and in her personal life. While she’s set to appear on season 29 of The Voice beginning on February 23 on NBC, the family also experienced the August 2025 death of Brandon Blackstock, Kelly’s ex-husband and father to her children.
