While The Fantastic Four: First Steps may have failed to match the financial success of the MCU’s bigger hits, the film recently managed to pass a significant box office milestone. Due to a significant drop after its first weekend, many began to question whether the latest MCU feature would crash out of the theaters with a disappointing collection. However, Fantastic Four seems to still be taking in a decent amount at the box office.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps goes past $500 million at box office
According to the latest Box Office Mojo reports, The Fantastic Four: First Steps has finally passed $500 million in global earnings, doing so six weeks into its theatrical run. In accordance, the first entry in the MCU’s Phase Six currently boasts a respectable collection of $506 million.
Of its current global box office tally, an estimated $265.8 million has come from the domestic front, with the international market accounting for the remaining $240.5 million. Aside from the US, the debut outing for Marvel’s First Family in the MCU has fared the best in the UK ($31 million), Mexico ($28.2 million), France ($16.2 million), Brazil ($14.4 million), and Australia ($11.4 million). Notably, the new Fantastic Four movie has also become the highest-grossing superhero film of 2025 in Italy, Thailand, as well as the Latin American region, as per Deadline.
The movie’s current collection also makes it the most successful Marvel outing of the year, quickly surpassing Captain America: Brave New World ($415 million) and Thunderbolts* ($382.4 million).
While Fantastic Four’s global box office numbers look nothing short of impressive, it is a huge drop-off from what analysts initially expected from the film after it recorded opening weekend earnings of $218 million. Moreover, the movie only ranks 27th in the list of the highest-grossing MCU titles to date, at the time of writing, with little chance of gaining more than two spots.
