American-born, East London-based songwriter Nick Hinman – better known by his alias Fast Money Music – has unveiled his latest single Round And Round, accompanied by a moody new video. The track offers the first glimpse into his forthcoming self-titled debut album, due in 2026.
Described by Hinman as “tough nostalgia,” Round And Round folds shimmering guitar lines and melodic bass into a bittersweet swirl of jangle-pop and post-punk urgency. Think the homespun charm of The Cleaners From Venus colliding with the lo-fi drive of Guided By Voices. Lyrically, it circles the push-and-pull of memory and desire, a theme echoed in its hypnotic arrangement.
“[It’s] about the feeling of being caught in loops – the ‘Groundhog Day’ of songs,” Hinman explains. “Reliving the same phrases, the same moments, the same pull you can’t quite shake. Bittersweet but driving.”
Recorded between Hackney Road Studios and Hinman’s own Dalston space, the track was pieced together across multiple sessions before being refined by heavyweight collaborators. GRAMMY®-nominated producer Mikko Gordon (Thom Yorke, Arcade Fire) co-produced alongside Hinman, while mastering duties were handled by GRAMMY®-winner Matt Colton (Depeche Mode, Wet Leg, Arctic Monkeys). Contributions from Oscar Robertson (SHOLTO) on drums and Steffan Halperin (Klaxons) on backing vocals further round out the sonic collage.
The release continues Fast Money Music’s trajectory as one of East London’s most intriguing underground songwriters. His two earlier EPs, Strange Moments and Rouge, earned spins from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, alongside praise from Jack Saunders, Steve Lamacq, and John Kennedy. The latter release even featured contributions from George Daniel and John Waugh of The 1975.
With Round And Round now streaming and live dates building towards his debut LP, Hinman’s project is quickly finding its footing among the UK’s most promising alt-pop newcomers. Fans can catch him live on 20th October at The Shacklewell Arms, supporting Black Pope, before more singles drop later this year.
