Kimberly Williams-Paisley is remembering her beloved friend and colleague Diane Keaton following news of the Oscar-winning actress’s untimely death over the weekend.
In a heartfelt tribute post on Instagram on Saturday, Oct. 11, Williams-Paisley honored Keaton, sharing a couple of photos of the two of them working together on set. The 54-year-old talented actress and wife of country music star Brad Paisley, 52, also shared her appreciation for having had the opportunity to work alongside Keaton, calling those memories one of the “highlights of my life.”
“Diane, working with you will always be one of the highlights of my life,” Williams-Paisley captioned her post. “You are one of a kind, and it was thrilling to be in your orbit for a time.”
“Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, your talent, and above all, your laughter. 🙏🏻🕊️💔❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote, concluding her message.
Williams-Paisley and Keaton collaborated on several films together, notably the two Father of the Bride movies, which included 1991’s Father of the Bride and its 1995 sequel, Father of the Bride Part II. For their roles, Keaton played the character Nina Banks while Williams-Paisley acted as her daughter, Annie Banks. Actor Steve Martin played Williams-Paisley’s father in both films. The images shared in Williams-Paisley’s post were stills from those movies, with one photo showcasing Keaton standing next to the bedside of Williams-Paisley, while the other snapshot saw them appearing to break into laughter together.

Folks who saw Williams-Paisley’s post took a moment to praise the work of both actresses while also sharing how the Father of the Bride movies made an impact on so many people.

Keaton, who was born as Diane Hall in 1946 in Los Angeles, died on Saturday, Oct. 11, in California, according to People. She was 79. Details surrounding her death were not immediately made available.
Along with her roles in Father of the Bride, Keaton was known for her performances in The Godfather films and Annie Hall, as well as The First Wives Club, Something’s Gotta Give, The Family Stone, and many other roles. In addition to Williams-Paisley, Bette Midler, Mandy Moore, Mary Steenburgen,Melissa Gilbert, Octavia Spencer, Kate Hudson, and several others paid tribute to Keaton in the wake of her death.
