Fire Country has had a slew of cast exits this season, but the show is also getting an outstanding new cast member.
Sharon’s (Diane Farr) mother is making an appearance in Edgewater this November for a very tense reunion. That’s right, Fire Country fans are going to learn more about Sharon’s family with a familiar face joining the show.
Actress Christine Lahti is playing Ruby Quinn, Sharon’s estranged mother. According to Entertainment Weekly, Ruby makes everything about her and can light up any room with her energy.
Following Vince’s (Billy Burke) death, Ruby comes to town looking to reconnect with Sharon and her grandson Bode (Max Thieriot). The reunion will be anything but a happy one.
Sharon’s resentment toward her mother comes to light as they clash over family history and Ruby’s desire to never look bad. There’s no love lost between Sharon and her mother, that’s for sure.
Fire Country fans already know a bit about Sharon’s childhood thanks to Sheriff Country’s Mickey (Morena Baccarin) and her dad, Wes (W. Earl Brown). When fans first met Mickey, it was revealed that Wes was married to Sharon’s mom, Ruby, when the girls were teens.
There’s no word yet on whether Ruby will be crossing over to Sheriff Country or if Wes and Mickey will pop up on Fire Country when Ruby arrives in town.
The good news is that Fire Country fans will meet Ruby soon. Lahti makes her Fire Country debut as Ruby on Friday, November 21.

After news of her joining the show broke, Lahti used Instagram to gush over the experience and working with Farr.
“Working with @getdianefarr has been a dream! Playing this hilarious, complicated, narcissistic, man-crazy mama has been a total blast ! @firecountrycbs,” read her caption.
Farr chimed in the comments section to write back “Lucky me ❤️🔥🔥.”
The Fire Country star also used her own Instagram to express her excitement at having Lahti on the show.
“What a joy to get to grow as an actress beside this beautiful artist and as a mother and a daughter while art does that healing little else can. #mommabear got a momma of her own 🚒 🧡 can’t wait for you to seeeeeee,” Farr shared as her caption.
Get ready, Fire Country fans. Season 4 is about to heat up even more with the addition of Christine Lahti.
